I need one urgent help regarding MAP message,
In any spec lets say 3GPP 29.002 version 6.8.0 Release 6 they mentioned about MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI as a procedure of IMEI service management but if we go to the table 16.2/1 there is no operation code mapped for MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI service. If i want to implement this message in MAP stack how it is possible or is there any specifc reason because of which it does not contain under MAP messages.

But did you try provideSubscriberInfo ( Opcode=70 , MAP-PROVIDE-SUBSCRIBER-INFO),
It has IMEI as optional component in response..
The Op Code for Check IMEI is 43 (2b hex).
I am fascinated to know what your intentions are. This is the first time someone has EVER asked about IMEI thast I know of.

I think i got the reason , why the operation code for MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI is not mentioned in MAP spec table 16.2/1.
The reason is that MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI is a non standarad message used between MSC and VLR in B interface so If i developing MAP stack according to spec of MAP i should know the operation code of the message for encoding and decoding in the MAP stack. we cannot have standard implementation for MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI in MAP stack to encode and decode because it is non standard.

But whats the purpose behind obtaining IMEI, may we know?
MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI is used between VLR and MSC to request the IMEI. If the IMEI is not available to MSC it is requested from MS.
Most of the cases MSC and VLR functionalites are implemented in same node. So VLR module and MSC module can communicate for IMEI through MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI service and implementation would be specific to the architecture ,
In MAP spec apart from MAP_OBTAIN_IMEI some ther messages are there which is used between MSC and VLR over B interface are non-standard and operation code are not mentioned.
