I am playing around with GPRS on the network side and am running into an annoying problem.
If my network side resets while an MS is in a conversation, the MS continues to think that it is attached (which is quite reasonable) and then sends me a routing area update. When I receive this, since I don't know the MS, I want to get the MS back into an idle state. If I respond with a routing area update reject, the MS just re-sends the routing area update, but if I send a routing area accept followed by GMM Status (with cause implicitly disconnected), even an explicit Detach Request, the MS seems to just ignore me and continues on trying to send TCP data to SNDCP.
Isn't the network supposed to be able to send a GMM Detach at any time? What magic does it take to get the MS to stand down??
Thanks!
