Iraq Telecom

Iraq, one of the richest countries in the world with much potential the upcoming years.
New fresh telecom market only 7 years old. 3 major GSM operators, covering 27 million out of which 67% are under 40. Total penetration %60.
The security situation and the turbulent currency exchange rate remains a challenge for operators and distributors.

The Iraqi officials confirm that the fourth license is just around the corner, which concludes that the telecom business in Iraq will continue to flourish for years to come.

One question I would like to ask:

Will the fourth license be GSM, CDMA, 3G or 4G and whether if it is going to be a joint venture between government and private secotr?

Will the 4th operator start their operation from North of Iraq (Kurdistan Region) then move to South or viceversa?

We all witnessed challenges Zain mobile faced when they first introduced their service to Kurdistan. How likely it is for the fourth operator to face similar obstacles? (PESTLE factors)
