VLR HLR and MSC functionality confusion

Hi,

Can anybody clear my below doubts with refernce....

For MO call ,Serving MSC will route the call to external network GMSC or home GMSC will forawrd to external network GMSC.

For MO call,MSC will ask VLR for authenication and proceed further or it will contact HLR for all calls.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

Hi,
In the MO call , the call goes to the GMSC of the Called party number. The GMSC of the called party inquires the HLR of called party , to get the serving MSC of called party. The GMSC connects the call between called party and calling party number. I hope this will clear your doubt.

Thanks

VLR HLR and MSC functionality confusion

Dear,

Thanks for your answer.

My doubt is still there....

I want to know about the calling party. Let's say A calling to B.
1)
A (MSC) will forward the call to B(GMSC) or
A(MSC) to A(GMSC) will forward the call to B(GMSC).

2)
For MO call,A(MSC) will ask A(VLR) for authenication and proceed further or it will contact A(HLR) for all calls.

Hope , you get my doubts.

Thanks in advance !!!

hello

Hello,
Answers are inline.
1)
A (MSC) will forward the call to B(GMSC) or
A(MSC) to A(GMSC) will forward the call to B(GMSC).

Rajesh:A (MSC) will forward the call to B(GMSC), then this GMSC will query to B(HLR).

2)
For MO call,A(MSC) will ask A(VLR) for authenication and proceed further or it will contact A(HLR) for all calls.

Rajesh: Here in MO call, A( HLR), will not come into the picture. Subscriber is authenticated, when the mobile phone is attached to the network.

Thanks

VLR HLR and MSC functionality confusion

Thanks a lot for response...

In case of roaming also the same would be applicable.

Let's say, A has X (Home) and Y(Roam) , now A roams to Y location.

As per me, MO will happen as below,

Y( MSC/ VLR) forward the call to MT without consulting A(HLR). (Correct me if this is wrong)

If above statement is true, How and when VLR gets updated about HLR changes (e.g. if barring happens of home HLR).

how frequently Home (HLR) and Roam (VLR) be in sync.

Thanks in advance !!!

How and when VLR gets updated about HLR changes

Every time there is subscription change of a subscriber in terms of services say barring , or Supplementary services HLR should indicate the VLR (home or roam) in real time. This is done by HLR sending stand alone ISD or DSD to the VLR. So the subscriber data at VLR is always updated.

In the above case if the subscription change such as outgoing call barring has happened for the subscriber before MT event, then the MSC/VLR will not even allow to initiate the MO Call.

HLR Defaulting

I am seriously asking for help if any on this scholar website.

I have been experiencing a continues problems with customer's information defaulting into the systems,ie the info are all processed into the billing system and pass through the IN, HLR, P200, and all of the subsystems in the network but the problem is whenever you come the following day i experience that the ESN,IMSI and A-Key all can't be seen and the customer can't make neither receive calls on their phone.

Is there any way forward in resolving the problem?

Thanks

Hello

Hello,
Could you provide more information for HLR defaulting. We works in the domain of roaming applications. We have developed GSM HLR with AuC.

Thanks
