Hi people,
I'm trying to find technical information about how dual sim card phones work.
Basically i need to know how two sims can be active at the same time, and how these phones behave when receiving a call, or initiating call, roaming etc...

Can u send some pdf files ar any ppt's which explain my doubts...

Its not based on dual SIM ,its based on dula IMSI wher the carrier network identifies the subscrober by this IMSI.
If the subscriber is roaming out side his carrier network or home network the secondary IMSI get activated wher the primary IMSI is not recognised by the network wher he is roaming.

Actually, there are dual SIM phones... e.g.:

Some can have two SIMs, but are using only one at a time and allow you to choose which SIM you want to use when you do a reset or a switch between the SIMs.

However, in case both SIMs are active, the phone actually has two radio sub-units and it is essentially two phones with one UI controlling both the "phones".

Thanks for the reply. The attachment what you have sent talks about D-IMSI mapping application. But what i'm concerned is, how do these phones with dual sim (GSM + CDMA) phones work... I mean both GSM and CDMA are two different technologies, so i have doubts about how the call flow scenarios are handled, with two sims active at the same time...
