Hi Dineshonss7,

There is no diff?rence between SIGTRAN and SS7oIP, it is just two differente way of calling the protocol stacks.
The protocol stack is composed of IP/SCTP and up to SCTP you can find M3UA, M2PA, M2UA ...
There are user adaptation stack which correspond to the existing classic SS7oTDM

You can find information on http://www.ietf.org on the RFC pages.

Common Channel Signaling System #7 ( SS7) transports SS7 messages over an SS7 network (normally a DS0A connection) and then there is SIGTRAN. SIGTRAN is a set of protocols defined to transport SS7 messages over IP networks. SIGTRAN allows IP networks to inter-work with the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and vice versa.
