Logica session.send() vs transmitter.send()

Hello,

I do not understand what is exactly the difference between session.send() and transmitter.send(). If someone knows, please could you tell me what would be a situation to benefit from using transmitter.send() over session.send(). I can not understand from those doc links that I have provided.
