Things to check when choosing a reliable SMS broker

Hi,

Having to choose a reliable SMS broker to provide me with SMPP or HTTP access to send SMS-MT worldwide, the choice is really very difficult.

There's a very very big number of those brokers where they excite you with their very low prices, global world wide coverage, features and more ... And i know there's a lot of rippers who plays on marketing effort and sell you an account but when you try to send SMS you discover that your agregator is blacklisted by local operators worldwide.

I've even tested with an agregator for sometime with a low refill amount (10 EUR), at the beginning every sms i send is received on the mobile and i have my deliver_sm (ackowledgement) and after a while (some days later), i continue receiving deliver_sm like if all my sms are received, but when i've checked, none was received realy on the phone, it's clear my provider riped me.

The few ones which are truly reliable are very expensive, like clickatell.com, it's 10 to 30 times more expensive than other providers in the market.

It really depends on the volume of SMS traffic and the frequency you'll be using the SMS media. You might also wish to consider purchasing an SMS gateway - in many cases the ROI is such that it is definitely worth the expense. In fact, i've already running my own SMS gateway/SMS-C from http://www.tritux.com which is acting as SMPP server and client with intelligent routing (store & forward) mechanisms.

Now am looking for a reliable sms hub on which i can run my business, so along with ROI, i'd love to get some "return on experience" from some of you ..
