TCAP Timers

Hi guys,
I'm working on the development of tcap protocol stack and I'm concerned on where can I find tcap timers value.
For instace, whan my app send the BEGIN message, what is the timer to wait until abort this message if there is not a response, and so.

Can anyone help me? Is there a Q.xxx standard where I can see this ?

Thanks,

Ard G.

Re: TCAP Timers

U need to set a time out value in the component portion of TCAP msg while sending.
When there is no response from the other end statck will send L_CANCEL message to your application when the time out happens so at that time  u can send user abort to stack to close the dialogue.

Thanks for u response. Is there a default value I've to use, or I've to define that value myself ?

Re: TCAP Timers

That all depends on ur application and also it depends on the remote applications how much fast it can give the responses back.

Re: TCAP Timers

The TCAP timer is set as short (s), medium (m), medium long (ml) and long (l). The TCAP messages timer can be found define in the 3GPP TS specs e.g for MAP sepc 3GPP TS 29.002 MAP specification.

For the default timing its configurable but im sure there is a default settings mentioned in some spec, I seem cant remember where.

Thanks to all. I've found the values on GSM 29.002 document (17.1.2) in combinations with (17.6.1) operations.
