Hi all,
I would appreciate some advice regarding what looks like a telecoms device on the side of a house I may soon own. Unfortunately I don't know if I can attach the image of the device directly onto this post/forum so currently cannot show the device to you (I read the guide but don't have a web location to store it on).
The house is a 2 floor semi-detached ex-council house and the grey box is securely attached at a little under 2/3rds of the way up an outer side wall. Wiring can be seen coming out of the box and going around the back of the house before going out to other houses in the near vicinity at roof level. Also, what appears to be a cable is seen coming out of the bottom of the grey device and into the ground.
My questions are:
1. Do devices like this exist, therefore possibly increasing the likelihood that this is a strategic telecoms device used to provide telecoms to this house and others around it?
2. If so, would there have to be an agreement between the telecoms supplier and the house holder to allow the device to be attached to the property.
3. Again if so, would the home owner have a legal right to receive financial compensation to allow the property to be used to house the device.
4. Again if so, would the current home owner have a legal right to recieve back dated financial compensation if they have a legal right for compensation and have not been receiving it.
5. Finally would I, if I became the home owner, have a right to get the device removed if I so wished.
Any suggestions/advice/answers to all or part of my questions will be gratefully received and if anybody can tell me how best to make the picture of the device available I will be more than happy to do so.
Thanks in advance
Patrick
