How would you dimension the hardware for a SMSC and an OCS?

Hi everybody,

This is a hard question but I'm sure some of you can answer it.

I'm wondering what parameters to look at when dimensioning hardware, for example, for an SMSC or OCS.
Hardware refers to CPU, disk and RAM sizes.

A couple of examples: #subscribers, amount of traffic records, how much back-up, are you gone create virtual zone on the machine etc.

It would be really nice if you guys could pitch in.
