Hi
We are developing an SMSC for GSM networks

How can we support Deferred Delivery of SMS messages in GSM
(i.e when we have to deliver the message at particular time in future, like after a day or so as per the time set by sender of SMS)

Through which parameter of MOFSM message we can determine whether its an ordinary message or a deferred message.

In CDMA this feature can be implemented by use of SCHEDULED DELIVERY parameter in SMDPP message.
whereas  in GSM's MOFSM message i didnt find any parameter such which says that the message is a deferred message.

Information you provide would be very useful for us

thanks n regards
Satya

Hi Satya,

AFAIK, There is no parameter where the schedule is specified.
I think, if you want to provide this, you may need to create an SMPP short code based service.
Only related parameter is : TP-VP ( Validity period) which could be either relative or absolute, it only specifies expiry date/time.

Regards.

There is a scheduled delivery time parameter in SMPP 3.4 ( and onwards ). Use that and attempt the delivery at some future day/time. But this works only for Application orgianted messages.
