MAP_SRI versus MAP_SRISM

Hi Experts,

Let's assume that MAP_SRI is done with HLR to get the Serving MSC Address and HLR returns VMSC address in SRIAck. Can I use this address to route mobile terminated SMS as well instead of doing another
MAP_SRISM?

When I took a look at both the message formats: MAP_SRI returns VMSC Number and MAP_SRISM returns Network Node Number/Additional Number. Can I use VMSC number instead of Network Node Number/Additional Number and still route MAP_MT_FSM?

Please could you clarify?

There is only one procedure to query HLR in MAP. i.e.
MAP-SEND-ROUTING-INFO-FOR-SM you can refer any MAP spec(ex. 3GPP TS 29.002 version 4.12..0 Release 4) for more clarification.

MAP_SRI is used to query HLR in order to route a call tomards the called MS . The procedure is MAP_SEND_ROUITNG_INFORMATION. This cannot be use to query HLR to route Short Message.
