Placement of IP(Intelligent Peripheral)

Hi

IN Guys;can you please share where the IP is placed. Is it part of IN, a seperate specialised Node or co-located with SSP. I'm asking of most general scenarios you guys have observed in the networks. Also is this IP called SRF as well ?...One SRF is co-located with SSP for basic call announcenements. Can the same SRF be used as IP for SCP?

- It can be Co-located/integrated IP in SSP also can be an external IP.

- SRF logic always implemented in both integrated IP or External IP. It can be depends on the application one is accessing.

Re: Placement of IP(Intelligent Peripheral)

HI

the IP or external IP is part of the INAP environment...

the IP basically will be used as a media server to provide announcement to the user
like services as:

prepaid
calling cards
id codes
and other services that request DTMF digits collection

when is used externally usually are connected with ISDN or SS7 with the softswicth or switch
