what is the reliable max length of the message itself that contains bearer data and other field

Hi Itsnomihere!
As I known ANSI-41 is just a standard for upper layer (sms application layer) in SS7 protocol stack.
In SS7 protocol stack:

MTP1 -> MTP2 -> MTP3 -> SCCP -> TCAP -> ANSI-41 or MAP,...

MTP2 has LI field (Length Indicator) to indicate sms length. Normally, it is set to 0x3f to indicate that sms has more than 63 bytes.
So I think sms length is 273 bytes maximum (except MTP2 & CRC information) like other sms in GSM.
