Hi Nauman

The MSC can send notification. If the HLR thinks the mobile is available, the SMDPP will be sent to the MSC. If the delivery is not successful here (e.g. battery pull, out of coverage etc), the MSC should wait until the mobile is known to be available and send an SMSNOT to the SMSC.

Yes you are right.
But for against one number we are getting upto 300 notifications.
Seams like it is sending the notificaiton against
for 500 numbers we have 20 thousand notifications coming per day
Also does SMSCOUNT/MSGCOUNT in smdpp has anything to do with it ?

Thanks Shad

Yes msgcount in notification has much to do..

Set that value to 0 when responding for Alert-notification,,

Also
We have found out that out of 20,000 only 200 are coming from HLR and all other notification are coming from MSC side. Shall we send SMSNotNotification to MSC? But then what could be the problems?
How notification from MSC is different from HLR?

can you post some ANSI-41 traces of the initial delivery attempt, the response, the notification, its response, the subsequent delivery etc?
