Hi All,

I am in process of querying subscribers roaming information by sending SMS-Request to HLR

As I understand, MSC should act as STP and it should forward my request to HLR by looking into SSN

But my request never reaches the HLR. Please check my sms-c dump for this request

***********************Sending Request to HLR***********************

*********************** Sending Open Dialogue Request ***********************

Tx: I0000 M tc7b2 i0000 f3d d25 s00 p = 01010f135414060061041450021000000000030f536114ee8 06104145002100002000000

***********************Sending Service Request: SMS_Request ***********************

Tx: I0000 M tc7b0 i0000 f3d d25 s00 p = 050e0100140210021a0a0131210b2915171139f0

00

*********************** Sending Close Dialogue Request ***********************

Tx: I0000 M tc7b2 i0000 f3d d25 s00 p = 0300

Please tell if I am missing something. Is there any extra configuration requires to be done for HLR interrogation?
Actually my telecommunication knowledge is not much strong because I am a software engineer not a telecomm engineer. So any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance..

Looking forward;

Hi,

Try GT routing for HLR query.

Dear Dineshonsms

Thanx a lot for ur kind reply.

But if u look at the dump u can infer from that, we are already doing routing on GT by setting bit 7 of address indicator to 0.Now here i want to ask two questions for two different scenarios

A) if we rout on GT  wht should be the point code and ssn?? shud we use point code and ssn of MSC or not?

b)if we rout on SSN wht shuld be the point code and ssn?? shud we use point code and ssn of MSC or not?

Looking forward

If u route on GT what is the requirement of PC & SSN. Make PC pres flag to false ( though depends on the API u use).   And put the B party number in destaddress of open request.

Dear Dineshonsms

b)if we rout on SSN wht shuld be the point code and ssn?? shud we use point code and ssn of MSC or not ?

Usually DPC + SSN works for local networks as the local MTP3 route for DPC is the mandatory requiremet and usually it is feasible in the local networks. Once that is defined then define the required DPC.

But there is confusion in terms of routing in CDMA network as it may vary with the network implementation. In some cases, I have seen routing happening on the basis of translation type at CDMA STP.
