Hi,

There are some teleservices with SMS such as CPT, CMT, VMN, VMA... and I know most of them. But CPT make me some confusion. So could anyone help me decribe a bit detail of CPT such as when CPT is used and message flow...

Thanks alot for all regarding.

All these teleservices are ANSI (CDMA & TDMA).. in short they are restricted forms of the SMS message format that are dedicated to some given application.

CPT is designed as a customised paging function.. taking parameters specific to paging such as callback number etc.. it can possibly cause different alert tones on the phone etc. They get transmitted the same as any normal SMS message but the bearer data encoding of the MAP message contains only the attributes specific to paging.

Same applies to the VMN teleservice. CMT teleservice is just a normal message
