Hi Yaniv

User Data is an optional field in a Wireless/Cellular Messaging Teleservice SMS Submit/deliver message so from a standards point of view I don't think there is a problem. In ANSI-41 SMS_BearerData is mandatory in  SMDPP.

There are a few ways you could in theory send an "empy" message though:

- In ANSI-41 SMS_BearerData with zero length
- IS-637 User Data not present
- User Data present but with SUBPARAMETER_LEN = 0
- User Data present, SUBPARAMETER_LEN = 2, NUM_FIELDS = 0

Perhaps some of these would work better than others with your particular network?
