I checked the message flows involved in the ANSI-41 based Mobile core networks. The CAMEL services that exist in the GSM MAP seems to be missing in the ANSI-41. Is the WIN an equivalent of CAMEL in ANSI-41? Are the WIN specifications available for free download?

 You are mixing your protocols.

ANSI is the signaling (transport) layer protocol, like ETSI is to Europe. GSM is GSM anywhere. It is an Application layer protocol, independant of the transport layer.

GSM providers in ANSI networks use CAMEL, and it signals the same.

WIN is used in CDMA networks.

ANSI 41 does not get into MAP layers, as these are the payload, and do not effect transport.

What question do you have? I know both ANSI and ETSI potocols, and GSM on both.

In my understanding, ANSI-41 is equivalent to the MAP protocols(both sit at the Application layer).
I could see the following comparison:

MAP:updateLocation
ANSI-41:REGNOT

MAP: cancelLocation
ANSI-41: REGCANC

MAP: SendAuthenticationInfo
ANSI-41: AUTHREQ

MAP: Reset
ANSI-41:BULDEREG

Similarly, I do not find any equivalent for the Camel messages(For example AnyTimeInterrogation, ProvideSubscriberInfo etc.) existing the MAP.

Do you have any idea?

Hi Qazmlp

There are various WIN standards:

IS-771: "WIN phase 1"
IS-826826-A: WIN based prepaid
IS-848: "WIN phase 2"
IS-843: Location

...and no doubt some others out there too.

At least IS-771 is probably incorporated into ANSI-41-E now.
